Afghanistan lose warm-up game to Scotland

Afghanistan have lost their only warm-up match before the World Cricket League Division One, losing by 65 runs against Scotland.

Scotland, batting first, scored an impressive 283-7 in 50 overs. Afghanistan never got any momentum in their innings, as they were all out for 217 in 47 overs. Skipper Nowroz Mangal top scored with 53 runs.

Before the match both team agreed to let all the players in each squad to play; of course the teams only had 10 wickets in each innings as normal, though. Afghanistan, however, were two players short, as Hamid Hassan and Mohammad Nabi, who played for MCC against Pakistan two days ago, didn’t have their Netherlands visas to access the country. They now have to go back all the way to Kabul to pick up their service passports, then fly to the Netherlands on the morning of the match against Canada, the first match in the tournament. Whether they will be fit to play has to be seen.

  1. Its a sheer carelessness by afghan cricket officials , it is foolish to call best player like hamid and mohamad nabi in the day of vital match , who can say they would be able to play without enough rest , right now we can just hope for them , hope hamid hassan will be there for his nation with cooperation of all other heroes. Best of luck , Allah bless u guys
